Higher Broughton Nursery
At Higher Broughton Nursery, people often ask us why we do what we do? The answer is simple, we do what we do because we are passionate about childcare.
We opened back in June 2010 and we pride ourselves on being inclusive in our practice by creating a friendly and welcoming environment for families across Salford. We feel that it’s important to work in partnership with parent/carers and any professional involved with the welfare learning and development of the child.
Our rooms
We are open plan nursery that is divided into three spaces. This includes a baby room for children aged 0 to 2. Defined space for children aged two to three and three to five. Each space has its own access onto our outside play area.
We also have a sensory room that we use to provide a calming and soothing environment for all children, or it can be used as an area where children can use up any excess energy.
Our outdoor space
We have a large play area that is designed to promote physical development in all areas We have a large open space for children to explore the outdoor environment. This includes a large sandpit, lots of shrubbery to provide children with natural areas that they can explore, make dens in as well enjoying the smells, texture, and colours.
We have a well-stocked mud kitchen where the children can use their imaginations to make their pies, potions.
We also have a large meadow wild area where children can observe and learn about nature.
Where are we?
We are situated in the Broughton Community Hub which provides many services to support the child and their family. The Hub is well used by the community and central to Salford.
The way we work
We are proud of the quality of service we provide, our place in the community, our inclusive practice and diversity. The dedication and commitment of the staff team to put the children at the centre of everything we do. To help the children to ‘be the best that they can be’. We are proud of our links with the local schools in the area and the support we give to help our children transition to school. Our partnership work with professional, parent /carers, children, and their families.
